National Officer Positions
Sigma Kappa is always seeking qualified alumnae to serve as national officers. National Council appoints alumnae to serve in a wide variety of areas to assure the growth and stability of our Sorority. These appointments are usually made on a yearly basis to allow many alumnae the opportunity to serve Sigma Kappa and learn more about the operation and management.
The choices for volunteer work on the national level are varied and one is sure to find an area that is interesting, challenging, and rewarding. Involvement is the key to any successful organization and therefore Sigma Kappa needs you! Alumnae District Director (ADD) - Oversees the alumnae chapter/club activities in her designated geographic area.
Director of Alumnae/Collegiate Relations – Promotes the opportunities Sigma Kappa offers for a lifetime and strives for the continuation of strong alumnae/collegiate relations.
Director of Alumnae Expansion – Strives to increase the number of alumnae chapters/clubs.
Director of Alumnae Recruitment - Strives to increase the membership in existing alumnae chapters/clubs and to promote the alumna initiate program.
Director of Alumnae Programming - Helps to operate the existing programming and to plan new programming for alumnae chapters/clubs.
Director of Recruitment Introduction Program - Addresses the promotion and organization of the Recruitment Introduction Program.
Collegiate District Director (CDD) - Serves as assistant to the national vice president for collegiate chapters in all matters concerning the conduct and function of the collegiate chapters in a designated geographical area (district); supervises the collegiate province officers in the area and provides guidance and assistance in their work with chapters to set and attain goals; serves as a liaison between national council and the collegiate province officers.
Collegiate Province Officer (CPO) - Supervises chapter advisors and monitors the progress of assigned chapters in all areas of chapter management.
National Panhellenic Conference Delegates - Represent Sigma Kappa to the National Panhellenic Conference and work with the other national women’s groups to promote Panhellenic spirit.
Director of Collegiate Finance - Assures all chapters are in good financial standing with the national organization and the Internal Revenue Service.
Director of Extension - Coordinates and executes extension projects for the Sorority as well as continuously supports planned, healthy growth for Sigma Kappa Sorority.
Director of Recruitment - Promotes and supervises all areas of recruitment for collegiate chapters; strives to continuously improve the national awareness of recruitment to collegians and alumnae.
Director of Recruitment Resources - Promotes and develops membership recruitment resource materials for all collegiate chapters and recruitment advisors/supervisors; strives to continuously improve the national awareness of membership recruitment to collegians and alumnae.
Director of Member Development - Serves as a resource and assists collegiate chapters with member education including calendar development, committee structure, chapter goals and informal meeting programs. Responsible for developing and coordinating the member development program.
Director of Scholarship - Serves as a resource and assists collegiate chapters with academic and scholastic activities, scholarship programs, time management, tutoring, study skills, and academic incentives.
Director of New Member Education - Serves as a resource and assists collegiate chapters with the Promise program, including curriculum, programs, scholarship, sisterhood, Inspiration Days, big/little sister activities, and new member/new initiate functions.
Director of Training - Coordinates logistics for training sessions of chapter officers, advisors and collegiate province officers.
Director of Sigma Kappa Licensing Program - Supervises the approval process of all vendors that are associated with Sigma Kappa Sorority.
Corporation Liaison - Assures that all corporations are properly managed and in good standing
District Recruitment Coordinator/Manager - Tracks statistics, documents, and reviews reports, and strives to improve the national awareness of collegiate membership recruitment to collegians and alumnae.
District Recruitment Coordinator/Educator - Strives to improve the awareness of collegiate membership recruitment to collegians and alumnae, and specifically supports the development and implementation of a successful membership recruitment plan for chapters.
Extension Development Coordinator - Assists in the extension efforts of the Sorority.
National Trainer - Performs training workshops to further the leadership development of Sigma Kappa members.
Conference Coordinator - Coordinates arrangements for COTS or convention and provides resources and support to alumnae and collegians coordinating state and regional conferences.
Local Arrangements Coordinator - Lives in the area where COTS or convention is being held to assist in local coordination of the event.
National Awards Chairman - Coordinates and supervises the awards process for COTS and convention.
National Archivist - Responsible for the preservation of materials and memorabilia relative to the history and the founding of Sigma Kappa.
Bylaws Committee Chairman - Works with committee members appointed by national council to carry out the duties and responsibilities according to the Constitution and Bylaws.
Sigma Kappa Triangle Editors (Alumnae/Collegiate/Features) - Three different editors that work with the Sigma Kappa Triangle staff to develop articles for the magazine.
Several committees exist to support national officers. For example: investment. Sigma Kappa also utilizes writers for programming and the Sigma Kappa Triangle.
